Vintage Design

A fine pair of 18th century Italian brass pricket candlesticks impressively decorated in a baroque style with knopped stems and triform bases decorated with cartouche and foliage alterations. The columns are beautifully ornated on each side with leaves and floral motifs typical of the Baroque era. The finely detailed columns stand on tripartite bases. The columns are finished with large round brass cups that have scalloped edges and 75mm tall iron prickets. In the centre of each leg there is an elegant escutcheon surrounded by scrolls and finalised with a leaf decoration.

PERIOD: 18th century, Italy

MEASUREMENTS: Each candlestick measures approx. 49cm in height.

CONDITION: Wear commensurate to age and use, loss to the brass and visible old repairs. Otherwise good antique condition.
