About This Piece

Oil on canvas marouflaged on cardboard representing a woman lying on a bed. This painting bears the stamp of the painter's studio at the bottom left on the canvas and at the back of the painting. Hans Ekegardh (1881-1962) is a painter of Swedish origin, he began his career as a brilliant musician as a violinist and became a painter because he frequented many artists including Matisse whom he met in 1906. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants. The Museum of Modern Art in Paris and provincial museums exhibit some of his works. The canvas alone measures 0m27x0m22.
