Vintage Design

This Art Nouveau French glass and spelter figural lamp is dated early 1900's. Standing 55cm tall and cast from coloured and patinated spelter this beautiful lamp is modelled as a female figure sitting on a tree stump and looking at a butterfly, a symbol of transformation and hope.

The female figure is wearing a light blue dress that was once a traditional colour worn by brides to symbolise purity. Surrounded by painted vibrant green mistletoe which climbs above her head and grows up to a pair of lampshades in the form of tulips. The lamp has a plaque on the base inscribed in French L'innocence (meaning Innocence in English).

Dimensions: approx. 55 cm tall

Condition: Some wear and tear due to age. Loss of paint and scratches. Some mistletoe elements are missing. The lamp is in working condition.
