A beautiful romantic painting by David Kleyne (Kleijne) with a seascape with ships on calm water. Oil painting on panel. Signature lower middle of the painting. The measurement of the painting is 38.5 cm wide and 28.5 cm high. Measurement framed is 32 cm high, 42.3 cm wide and the depth is 3 cm. The weight is 808 grams. David Kleine b. Bergen op Zoom 1754, deceased. Middelburg 11 July 1805. Painted and drew sea and river views with very finely finished ships and rigging. Some etchings by him are also known. Netherlands Historical Maritime Museum Amsterdam: six small marines and a drawing in O.I. ink.
