A unique desk lamp in the form of a ball of thread, made in the 1960s, will be an original element of interior design. A plastic foot with a smooth outline is the basis for a dark-brick lampshade in the form of a ball of thread, with a slightly satin sheen.

The item presents a modern design style while being a reference to handicraft art. Lamps with string elements creating geometric shapes were inspired by Naum Gabo's spatial sculptures. This American architect of Russian origin was one of the main initiators of constructivism.

The basic principle of constructivism as an avant-garde trend was the use of simple geometric elements in creativity: a circle, a triangle and a straight line, which interacted with each other and caused internal tension in the composition of the image. Naum Gabo created spatial constructivist compositions as well as utility items with the use of a bowstring. The presented lamp directly refers to the technique and style created by Naum Gabo.
