Bronze bust with nuanced brunette patina, signed Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914), titled "Saïda" on Piédouche, representing a Bohemian.

French sculptor linked to the Art Nouveau movement, Villanis is known for its bronze tests where the traditional neo-classical style meets the elegant lines of Art Nouveau.

A prolific creator of busts throughout his career, his representations of the female body are sensual and allied with nuanced patinas highlighting the finesse of the traits.

Thought as attractive, mysterious and daring, the Bohemian exercised a fascination on the artist who created several works materializing these free and seductive women.

Currently, Villanis chooses to represent "Saïda" wearing a scarf on this wavy hair. The head raised, we recognize it by its proud attitude and its haughty port. A necklace that we imagine in gold enhances its bare shoulders which invite voluptuousness.
