Vintage Design

A large-sized pot made of ceramics. The surface of the object is glazed and painted. The upper part is green, smoothly turns into white in the lower part. This effect was obtained thanks to the use of the color grading technique. The surface of the jug is decorated with a plastic rocaille ornament, which is emphasized by subtle gilding. Decoration focused on the upper part of the belly and the handle.

The rocaille ornament is characteristic of the 18th century ornamentation. This ornament was closely related to rococo art. Its shape was to resemble shells, and at a later stage, forms resembling rooster combs or manes of sea waves were added

Rococo is a stylistic trend that was most clearly visible in ornamentation, interior architecture, painting and artistic craftsmanship. He performed in European art in the years 1720-1790. The rococo style, through its intimacy and sensuality, opposed the pompous and monumental baroque. It was distinguished above all by lightness, decorative forms, asymmetry, free composition, as well as smooth lines.
