About This Piece

Jozef Panfil is a Polish painter born in 1958. He studied at the National Superior School of Plastic Arts from which he graduated in 1984. He then obtained an artistic scholarship by the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1987.

An skillfull student with a promising future, he was awarded a distinction at the XXIV National Exhibition, a distinction at the Leon Wyczokowski National Competition, the Grand Prize at the Biennial of Small Pictorial Forms...

Jozef Panfil works on the rural world, representing men and landscapes. The reality is transformed, apprehended through the look and the brush of this charismatic artist. with the evolution of the contemporary world, the globalization and the urbanization of the countryside, Jozef Panfil opposes his pieces, reflections of a peasant world immersing gradually in oblivion. Through his paintingqs, Jozef Panfil wants to give voice to these inhabited and marginal areas, those where beauty has been neglected by modern fashion. The painter's approach reflects the political function of art, which is a great weapon, a way to fight againts oblivion and against inequalities.
