In the central body at the top the classical Greek motif from the "Greco-Roman" era is highlighted, surrounded below by the classical Greek motif of the wave (See tomb of the diver of Paestum). Below, twenty pods crown the whole thing. Born as a reaction to the late Baroque and Rococo and inspired by ancient art, particularly Greco-Roman art, it was variously characterized, but well recognizable in the various arts, in literature, in the theatrical, musical and architecture fields. His theorization came to life in Rome with the writings of the archaeologist and art historian Johann Joachim Winckelmann and the painter and art historian Anton Raphael Mengs, while the establishment of this model occurred above all thanks to the discovery, at the behest of the king of Naples Charles III of Bourbon, of the ancient cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii and the affirmation of archeology as a science.
