Vintage Design

Large late 19th century Lombardy living room mirror. Made of carved pine wood, the shield-shaped frame is embellished by the application of rich carvings on its edges; on the cymatium there are carved opposing volutes on which branches develop with flowers and fruits that descend along the sides, in the center the carved face of a possible Armida with a plumed crest, small carving in the lower band. Deficiencies and restorations including two feet in the base added later. The entire surface is gouache gilded.
