Model: The Cassina Maralunga 2-seater sofa is a design by Vico Magistretti.
It is said that one day Vico Magistretti was playing with a pack of cigarettes and thinking about what kind of new sofa he would design.
Opening and closing the packaging gave him a unique idea: an adjustable backrest.
Each handrail can be individually “folded” into a 90 degree angle, just like the cigarette pack. It was a great success and the sofa is still considered one of the most famous Italian design sofas.
