Mercury Glass hanging lamp with brass fixture from the 1930s. This type of lamp were mainly used for illuminating shop windows due to the high light output. The glass is covered with a thin layer of mercury and then painted gray. The mercury ensures a mirror effect. Here and there the lamp on the outside is slightly damaged and weathered as seen on the photos. This gives the inside a beautiful patina in the mercury. The lamp can be hung on the cord by means of a brass hanging eye with pull relief. This can also be used to determine the height of the lamp. This lamp is cleaned and equipped with new 140 cm long twisted black fabric cord.
