Vintage Design

Table Frame with Flower Shop, early 1900s, oval in shape with a beaded profile and hinged on the right side so as to be able to open the frame which has two feet and a cymatium richly decorated with scrolls finely engraved on the edges. The frame is made of thick, silver-plated brass sheet with a brand on the back with the initials MV in an oval field with the figure of a hammer in the centre. The clerk is made on a slate slab or blackboard with the inlay of a rose in the center and little wild flowers. Worthy of note are the green leaves for which stones with natural chiaroscuro shades were chosen which give a beautiful depth to the composition. Inside the oval door we find a green lining printed in gold with the words G. Montelatici 7 Lung'Arno Corsini Firenze with a Florentine lily in the center. Giovanni Montelatici (Settignano 1864 – Florence 1930) was one of the greatest masters of the Florentine salesman at the beginning of the century.
